Spring Valley Man, Child Hospitalized after La Presa Motorcycle Accident at Maria Avenue and San Diego Street
La Presa, California (July 9, 2021) – A motorcyclist and a child were hospitalized Friday morning following a traffic collision at an intersection in La Presa, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The major injury crash occurred at around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Maria Avenue and San Diego Street, south of Jamacha Boulevard.
As per the CHP report, a Nissan Altima sedan, driven by a Spring Valley woman, was traveling westbound on San Diego Street while a Honda CBR motorcycle, driven by a Spring Valley man, was heading northbound.
The Nissan reportedly entered the intersection and was hit on the driver’s side by the motorcyclist.
The rider was thrown off the bike upon the impact.
Major Injury Motorcycle Accident in La Presa
The motorcyclist sustained major injuries and was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital. A child in the rear backseat of the Nissan was transported to Lady’s Children’s Hospital with a laceration in his head.
No one else was injured. Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the collision.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
