Bakersfield, California (July 7, 2021) – One person was killed Thursday morning in a traffic accident involving a pair of semi-trucks in southwest Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly crash happened at about 5:13 a.m. on Highway 43 at Panama Lane.
The CHP said one semi-truck struck a tree and then burst into flames. Another semi-truck was also involved in the crash.

One person died as a result of the crash. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
The crash prompted the officers to close Highway 43 between Interstate 5 and Stockdale Highway.
