Anaheim, California (July 5, 2021) – Two women were critically injured after they were struck by a vehicle while celebrating the Fourth of July in Anaheim Sunday night, authorities said.

The accident happened at about 9:40 p.m. Sunday, July 4, in the 200 block of North Grand Avenue.

According to the authorities, a gray Chevy pickup truck was doughnuts in the street when the vehicle jumped the curb and crashed into the spectators.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found two women with major injuries.

Both victims, believed to be 22 and 44 years old, were taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the pickup truck stopped at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Investigators determined that the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident.

No arrest was made.

The crash remains under investigation.
