6 Hurt in 3-Car Collision in San Diego Freeway Crash

San Diego, California (July 1, 2021) – Six people were hospitalized Saturday morning following a traffic collision involving three vehicles on a freeway in  San Diego, authorities said.

The three-car crash happened at around 9:49 a.m. Saturday, June 26, according to the San Diego Fire Department.

A Honda was traveling on the freeway when, for undetermined reasons, the Honda veered to the right shoulder and rear-ended a parked Jeep, authorities said.

The Honda was then struck from behind by a Ford. The impact caused the Jeep to spin and came to rest on top of the Honda.

San Diego 3-Vehicle Crash Sends 6 to Hospital

Bystanders reportedly pulled the victims out of the wreckage. Six patients, including a child, were transported to various hospitals, three with major injuries and the other three with minor injuries.

The Nos. 4 and 5 lanes were blocked following the wreck.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
