Redding, California (June 30, 2021) – A man was hurt after being struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon in Redding, a local news sources said.

The pedestrian accident took place in the area of California and Yuba Streets just before 1:30 p.m. on June 28.

The crash began when a Toyota Camry driven by a 39-year-old Anderson woman east on Yuba Street approaching the intersection came to a stop before entering California Street.

After noticing the roadway was only open to southbound vehicles, the Anderson female operator swerved away from oncoming traffic.

The Toyota Camry then slammed into a chain-link fence before hitting a 57-year-old construction worker inside the fence.

Redding Pedestrian Accident

Due to the impact, the man was trapped under the vehicle and sustained critical injuries. He was rushed to Mercy Medical Center for medication.

The accident remains under an active investigation.
