Gilbert Marquez ID’d as 60-Year-Old Brawley Man Killed in Calipatria Crash on Highway 115 and East Albright Road
Calipatria, California (June 28, 2021) – Gilbert Marquez, 60, of Brawley, has been identified as the motorcyclist who was killed in a Saturday afternoon suspected DUI accident in Calipatria, authorities said.
The deadly accident transpired at about 4:00 p.m., on June 27, on Highway 115 and East Albright Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2012 Ford Fusion, driven by Shefner Larnell Moore, 54, of Brawley, allegedly failed to stop at the intersection and broadsided a Ford F-250 pickup, driven by Marquez.
Following the collision, the Ford reportedly overturned multiple times before landing on its tires. Unfortunately, Marquez was ejected onto the roadway.

Sadly, Marquez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Moore was also injured in the accident and was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. Moore was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.
The crash remains under investigation.
