Visalia, California (June 28, 2021) – Authorities have arrested a suspect involved in a wrong-way, head-on crash that left a man with serious injuries early Sunday morning in Visalia.
The major injury collision occurred at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, June 27 on Highway 99 and Avenue 184, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to the CHP, Byron Camacho-Najera was driving a BMW southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 99 at approximately 70 miles per hour when his vehicle collided head-on with a Dodge that was heading northbound on Highway 99.

The driver of the Dodge, a 28-year-old man, sustained major injuries in the crash.
The CHP said Camacho-Najera was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
