Atwater, California (June 26, 2021) – At least one person died in a fiery collision that happened Friday night in Atwater, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The incident occurred at around 9:43 p.m. near Santa Fe Drive and Spaceport Entry.

CHP officers responded to the scene after they received reports of a vehicle on fire.

The officers determined that two cars collided for unknown reasons, and one of them caught fire and was fully engulfed. That car was blocking the roadway.

The other vehicle rolled through a chain-link fence and into a castle.

At least one person died in the collision.

No word was given about the other parties involved in the crash.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
