Mitchell Morales ID’d as Man Killed in Long Beach Accident on Stearns Street near Radnor Avenue

Long Beach, California (June 25, 2021) – The man who was killed in a pedestrian crash on June 12 in Long Beach has been identified as Mitchell Morales, 59, according to a local news source.
Morales was reportedly in a wheelchair trying to push a shopping cart across Stearns Street near Radnor Avenue in an unmarked crosswalk when he was struck by a westbound 2016 Honda Civic.
The crash happened at around 11 p.m. June 12.
Mitchell Morales Killed in Long Beach Pedestrian Accident
Medics attempted life-saving measures on Morales but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the Honda, Joseph Maez, 26, of Long Beach, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter. He was booked on a $100,000 bail.
The incident is under investigation.
