East Los Angeles, California (June 24, 2021) – One person was sent to the hospital with severe injuries after a two-vehicle collision that took place Wednesday afternoon in East Los Angeles, the California Highway Patrol said.

The incident occurred at about 3:49 p.m. on N Ford Boulevard, just north of E 1st Street.

As per the report, a silver Chevrolet Equinox made an illegal u-turn and struck a white Toyota Highlander.

One of the drivers suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities are investigating the crash.
