Antelope Valley, California (June 18, 2021) – The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Bureau has identified the motorcyclist who was killed Saturday night in a traffic accident in the Antelope Valley as Darryl Hatcher, 59, of La Canada Flintridge.
The deadly accident transpired at about 11:49 p.m. Saturday, June 12, on the southbound Aerospace (14) Highway, just south of Avenue A.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Hatcher was riding a 2018 Indian Chieftain Elite when, for unknown reasons, he rear-ended a 2017 Harley-Davidson Road Glide driven by a 47-year-old Los Angeles man.
The impact caused the two motorcycles to flip over and eject both riders.

Hatcher was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other rider sustained moderate injuries and taken by medical personnel to Antelope Valley Hospital.
Highway 14 was closed in both directions and motorists were being diverted off at Avenue A. As of 4:20 a.m., northbound lanes were reopened to traffic.
Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
