Man Seriously Injured after Tanker Truck Slams Into Car on Central Avenue in Fresno

Fresno, California (June 9, 2021) – A man was seriously injured after a tanker truck slammed into a car early Wednesday morning in southeast Fresno, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The major injury collision occurred a little before 5:00 a.m. in the area of Central Avenue and Minnewawa Avenue.

CHP said a white Honda was traveling southbound when the driver failed to stop for the posted stop sign and was t-boned by the big rig that was heading westbound.

Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated the man who was trapped inside the wreckage of the Honda. He was then transported to a local hospital with major injuries.

CHP officers closed Central Avenue in both directions between Minnewawa and Peach Avenues as they conduct an investigation.
