San Ysidro, California (June 5, 2021) – SDPD officer Ryan Park, 32, died in a traffic crash that also killed his wife and a wrong-way driver in San Ysidro on Friday morning, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Park and his wife, Jamie Huntley Park, 33, who was also an officer at San Diego Police Department, were driving in a white Ford sedan southbound on Interstate 5 when they were hit by an oncoming Ford that was heading in the wrong direction.
The Ford was engulfed in flames after the collision, which occurred at around 10:25 a.m. June 4.

Both Ryan and Jamie died in the accident.
The other driver, who was not immediately identified, also died in the collision.
The crash caused a closure of all lanes of I-5 at State Route 905 as authorities worked to clear the scene.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
