El Cajon, California (June 4, 2021) – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who died last week on Friday morning in a collision with a vehicle in El Cajon as Jonathan Robert Guzman Lopez, 28, of Lakeside.
The deadly crash happened at around 8:00 a.m. Friday, May 28, in the 200 block of North Johnson Avenue, just north of West Main Street.
According to the authorities, Lopez was riding a motorcycle northbound on Johnson Avenue when he collided with a Chevrolet work truck.
Police believe the driver of the truck made an unsafe turning movement and failed to yield to the motorcyclist, leading to the crash.
Rider Killed in El Cajon Motorcycle Crash
Despite life-saving measures performed by the medical personnel, Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene and reportedly cooperated with the investigators.
The El Cajon Police is investigating the accident.
