Long Beach, California (June 4, 2021) – A two-car accident has claimed the life of one person early Friday morning on a freeway in  Long Beach, according to authorities.

The tragic wreck happened at around 3:00 a.m. on the 710 Freeway near the Del Amo Boulevard exit, the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to the CHP, two vehicles collided for an unknown reason on the northbound side of the 710 Freeway.

Deadly 710 Freeway Accident in Long Beach      

One person died in the crash. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

All northbound lanes of the 710 Freeway were closed following the crash. Northbound traffic was being diverted at the Del Amo Boulevard off-ramp.

No futher details about the crash were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
