Bicyclist Rebecca Schmidt Hit and Injured by DUI Driver on Scott Forbes Road in Yuba County
Rebecca Schmidt Hospitalized after Yuba County Accident on Scott Forbes Road
Yuba County, California (June 2, 2021) – 56-year-old Rebecca Schmidt, of Browns Valley, has been identified as the bicyclist who was hurt following a traffic collision in the Yuba County foothills on May 30.
The bicycle accident happened on Scott Forbes Road at around noon.
As per the California Highway Patrol report, a Subaru Forester driven by 34-year-old Richard Zapata eastbound on Scott Forbes Road hit Schmidt while riding her bicycle eastbound on the same highway.

Rebecca, who sustained a severe lower leg injury, was taken to her house by Zapata after the collision.
The patient was attended to by medical personnel who were called before being rushed to Sutter Roseville Hospital for further treatment.
Zapata sustained minor injuries, including a small laceration to his lip following the crash.
Meanwhile, the CHP arrested Richard on suspicion of driving under the influence.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
