Farmington, California (May 30, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a deadly car collision that happened Sunday afternoon on a highway in Farmington.

The California Highway Patrol said two vehicles were involved in the crash at around 1:39 p.m. on eastbound Highway 4, just a mile east of Milton Road.

Two vehicles collided, and one of them overturned onto its side. A female party was trapped inside one of the cars.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and cut about 50 feet of barbed wire to allow a helicopter to land and airlift at least one person to the hospital.

The report said at least one person died in the accident.

It was not clear how many people were injured.

Both vehicles were towed away, one of them with a broken front axle.

CHP is investigating to establish the cause of the crash.
