19-Year-Old Modesto Motorcyclist Killed in Coffee Road Crash
Modesto, California (May 28, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car Friday afternoon in Modesto, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At about 1:45 p.m., authorities received a report about the accident in the area of Coffee and Crawford roads, just north of Claribel Road.
CHP said a 1996 Ford Explorer, driven by Jesus Alejandro, 36, of Ceres, was heading northbound on Coffee Road, followed behind by a 19-year-old motorcyclist.
For an unknown reason, the motorcyclist struck the front left side of the SUV. The rider was thrown off the bike upon the impact and landed in a field nearby.
Deadly Motorcycle Accident on Coffee Road
The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead nearly three hours later. His name was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
No injuries were reported in the Ford. Alejandro passed a field sobriety test, the CHP said.
No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
