Oceanside, CA: Rider Suffers Serious Injuries in Motorcycle Collision on State Route 78 at Jefferson Street

Oceanside, California (May 26, 2021) – A rider sustained serious injuries in a collision with a vehicle in Oceanside Tuesday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said.

The major injury crash occurred on State Route 78 at Jefferson Street at about 5:55 p.m.

It was not immediately established how the collision occurred on the eastbound side of the interstate.

The unidentified rider was ejected from the bike upon the impact.

Major Injury Motorcycle Collision

Paramedics responded to the crash site and attended to the motorcyclist before rushing them to an area hospital for treatment of major injuries sustained in the crash.

The collision resulted in the closure of the eastbound lanes of State Route 78 for an unknown time.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
