Truckee, CA: CHP Investigating Deadly Big Rig Crash on State Route 89

Truckee, California (May 26, 2021) – At least one person died in a big rig crash that happened Tuesday afternoon in Truckee, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision was reported at about 3:25 p.m. on State Route 89 at Cabin Creek Road.

As per the CHP report, a small black Ford car collided head-on with a semi-truck under unclear circumstances. The Ford ended up pinned under the semi, and both vehicles were blocking the roadway.

At least one person was killed in the accident, as per the report. It was not clear if anyone was injured.

Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the collision.
