68-Year-Old Woman Dies, Four Hospitalized after Antioch Crash on Somersville Road at Delta Fair Boulevard
Antioch, California (May 25, 2021) – A three-car accident has claimed the life of an Antioch woman Tuesday afternoon in Antioch and left four other people with injuries, authorities said.
The deadly wreck occurred at around 12:17 p.m. at the intersection of Somersville Road and Delta Fair Boulevard.
According to the authorities, one vehicle was heading northbound on Somersville Road at a high rate of speed when it traveled through the intersection with Delta Fair Boulevard.
The vehicle then drifted across the center divider and struck another vehicle before colliding with two other vehicles that were heading southbound on Somersville Road.
Deadly 3-Car Accident in Antioch
A 68-year-old Antioch woman who was riding as a passenger in the northbound vehicle died in the crash. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the northbound vehicle sustained moderate injuries and another passenger had life-threatening injuries. Both were transported to a hospital for treatment.
The drivers of the southbound vehicles were also taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
