Delano, California (May 22, 2021) – One person sustained serious injuries following a traffic collision that happened Friday night at a Delano intersection, according to the California Highway Patrol
The major injury collision was reported just after 9:00 p.m. Friday, May 21, at the intersection of Highway 43 and Garces Highway, near the Kern Valley State Prison.
CHP said a Nissan 4-door sedan collided with another vehicle on the southbound side of Highway 43 at the intersection with Garces Highway.
One patient was taken to Kern Medical Center with major injuries, including a broken leg. The name and current condition of the victim were not disclosed.
The intersection of Highway 43 and Garces Highway was blocked as crews worked at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
