3 People Injured in Burnt Ranch Car Crash on State Route 299 near Hennessey Road
Burnt Ranch, California (May 21, 2201) – Three people were injured Friday morning in a traffic crash in Burnt Ranch, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The major injury collision happened at around 10:35 a.m. on State Route 299, just west of Hennessey Road.
A 2015 Toyota was exiting the Burnt Ranch United States Post Office parking lot and was preparing to travel eastbound when the driver, a 67-year-old man, failed to notice an oncoming 2005 Dodge, the CHP report states.
The Toyota reportedly entered both traffic lanes directly into the path of the Dodge. The left front side of the Toyota impacted with the front of the Dodge.
Major Car Collision on State Route 299 in Burnt Ranch
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extricated the driver of the Toyota from the wreckage.
The extricated victim and a 17-year-old female passenger in the Dodge were taken to Mercy Medical Center with major injuries. A 13-year-old male passenger of the Dodge was transported to Mad River Hospital with moderate injuries.
The Dodge driver did not suffer any injuries. The names and current conditions of the injured parties were not available.
The accident remains under investigation.
