Stanislaus County, California (May 19, 2021) – A 78-year-old man was killed in a head-on crash that left several other parties injured on Tuesday evening in Stanislaus County, authorities said.

The deadly accident occurred at about 7:00 p.m., on May 17, in the area of Orange Blossom and Lancaster roads between Oakdale and Knights Ferry.

According to the police, a pickup truck was heading south on Orange Blossom Road when, for unknown reasons, it crossed into the northbound lane where it collided head-on with an oncoming SUV.

Sadly, the 78-year-old man from Oakdale, who was the SUV driver, died in a crash. His passenger, a 78-year-old Oakdale woman, was seriously injured.

Several other parties, including the pickup truck driver, were seriously injured in the accident.

Intoxication was suspected of having played a role in the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
