Westlake, California (May 17, 2021) – Nicholas Country, 53, of Los Angeles, has been identified as the pedestrian who was hit and killed by a train on Wednesday morning in Westlake, authorities said.

The accident was reported at around 10:47 a.m. in the 600 block of South Alvarado Street.

Authorities said Country was hit by the train for unknown reasons on the tracks.

Firefighters, along with the paramedics, responded to the scene and found Country underneath the train. Country was then taken to a local hospital and was later pronounced.

Further details about the crash were not immediately provided.
