Mark Osborne Seriously Injured in Bicycle Crash on High School Road in Sebastopol
Mark Osborne Among 2 Hospitalized after Sebastopol Bicycle Accident on High School Road near Gaye Road

Sebastopol, California (May 15, 2021) – Mark Osborne, 53, of Santa Rosa was among two people seriously injured in a Wednesday evening crash involving a suspected DUI driver in Sebastopol, Sonoma County, according to the CHP.
The crash took place at about 6:00 p.m., on May 12, on High School Road, just south of Gaye Road.
According to CHP, Ulises Valdez, 27, of Sebastopol was driving a Ram Rebel pickup truck northbound on High School Road when he lost control on a left curve and drifted off the right shoulder of the road, striking a 12-year-old boy riding a bike.
Ulises then swerved back into the roadway, then drifted back onto the right shoulder and collided with Osborne, who was also on a bike.
The pickup truck then went off the road and slammed into a utility pole and a tree.
Mark Osborne Injured in Sebastopol Bicycle Crash
Osborne and the other bicyclist were both transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries. The boy was later transferred to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland for further treatment.
Valdez was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries and later arrested on suspicion of felony DUI.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
