1 Injured after Pursuit of Bus Ends in Crash on 80 Freeway in Penryn

Penryn, California (May 11, 2021) – One person was injured after a police pursuit ended in a crash in Penryn on Monday evening.

The incident happened along Interstate 80 Freeway near Highway 65 at about 4:15 p.m. May 10.

CHP’s Auburn Division reportedly pulled over a woman on Highway 65 for driving a bus without registration or plates.

The driver failed to yield and got on eastbound I-80 before exiting in Penryn.

At some point, the bus collided with a blue vehicle before coming to a stop.

The driver of the second vehicle was injured in the accident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The bus driver was arrested. The police determined that the bus used to belong to the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center before being sold at an auction.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

The CHP is investigating the incident.
