Tulare Woman Injured in DUI Crash on Highway 65 in Bakersfield
Tulare Woman Hospitalized after Bakersfield Truck Accident on Highway 65 at Famoso Road
Bakersfield, California (May 5, 2021) – A 29-year-old Tulare woman was injured Wednesday morning in a traffic collision involving a pair of big rigs in Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at about 5:00 a.m. on Highway 65, just south of Famoso Road.
The CHP said a Cadillac, driven by the woman, was heading southbound on Highway 65 when, for unknown reasons, the Cadillac drifted into the opposite lane, where it sideswiped the left side of one of the two big rigs that were traveling northbound.
The big rig driver lost control of the vehicle and jackknifed across the roadway after the collision. The Cadillac continued southbound and crashed into the front end of the other semi-truck, which flipped over and blocked two lanes on Highway 65.

The Cadillac driver was transported to Kern Medical with moderate injuries. Her name and current condition were not disclosed.
The drivers of the two big rigs were unhurt.
Alcohol was considered a factor in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
