El Cajon, California (April 29, 2021) – The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the bicyclist who died last week on Friday, five days after being struck by a vehicle in El Cajon as Robert Bronk, 57.

The deadly bicycle accident happened at around 10:26 a.m. Sunday, April 18, at the intersection of West Lexington Avenue and El Cajon Boulevard.

Bronk, who was homeless and lived in El Cajon, was riding a bicycle in the area when, for undetermined reasons, a vehicle hit him.

Bicyclist Hit and Killed by Vehicle in El Cajon

Bronk sustained traumatic head injuries and was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was given a poor prognosis. He was placed on end-of-life comfort-care measures and died at around 4:01 a.m. on Friday, April 23.

The El Cajon Police is investigating the accident.
