Man Killed in Hayward Car Crash on Highway 238 near 14 Street
Hayward, California (April 29, 2021) – A motorist died in a high-speed crash while being pursued by the police in Hayward on Thursday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision happened at about 1:45 a.m. on Interstate 238 at the E. 14th St. offramp.
The CHP received information of a Mercedes sedan that was speeding along Interstate 580 Freeway in Tracy.
The officers attempted to pull the motorist over near Eden Canyon Road but the driver failed to yield and led the officers on a chase to the Interstate 238 interchange.
The motorist reportedly lost control and crashed into a wall while attempting to exit at the 14th Street offramp.
The unidentified driver was killed in the crash.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
