Richmond, California (April 27, 2021) – The San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Bureau has identified the pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning in the Richmond District as Kenneth McLeod, 28.

At around 12:20 a.m. Saturday, April 24, emergency personnel responded to the intersection of Geary Boulevard and Park Presidio to investigate the report of a hit-and-run accident.

The authorities said McLeod was hit by a dark-colored vehicle while walking across the street against the walk signal.

First responders arrived at the scene and found McLeod lying down in the roadway. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measured performed by medical personnel.

The involved driver did not stop to render aid to McLeod and fled the scene. There was no description of the suspect.

Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect.

The accident remains under investigation.
