Shafter, California (April 25, 2021) – One of the three people who were killed Tuesday evening in a two-vehicle crash at an intersection in Shafter has been identified as Suzette Lean Dobbs, 79, of Shafter.

The deadly accident happened around 4:42 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, at the intersection of Central Valley Highway and Fresno Avenue.

The authorities said a 2009 BMW 328i was heading southbound on Central Valley Highway when, for unknown reasons, it collided with a Chrysler Aspen that was traveling westbound.

 Fatal Shafter Car Crash

Dobbs, who was driving one of the vehicles, was taken to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The other driver was also transported to the hospital and was later pronounced dead while his passenger died at the scene.

It is undetermined whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
