Ava Bender Killed in Car Crash on Sea World Drive in San Diego
Ava Bender ID’d as 1 of 2 Killed in San Diego Crash on Sea World Drive near Sea World Way

San Diego, California (April 23, 2021) – The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified one of the two people who were killed Wednesday night in a traffic accident in San Diego as Ava Bender, 18, of San Diego.
The deadly single-vehicle wreck happened at around 9:25 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, in the 500 block of Sea World Drive at Sea World Way.
The authorities said a 19-year-old man was driving a 2003 Ford F-150 westbound on Sea World Drive when he lost control and crashed into a large metal sign post.
The vehicle then hit a street light.
Deadly Car Crash on Sea World Drive in San Diego
Bender, who was riding as a passenger in the vehicle, was declared dead at the scene. The driver also died at the scene of the accident.
Police closed the westbound lanes of Sea World Drive while conducting an investigation.
The San Diego Police is investigating the cause of the accident.
