Woman Killed in Escondido Pedestrian Crash at El Norte Parkway and Las Villas Way
The woman was crossing El Norte Parkway when she was struck by an SUV
Escondido, California (April 19, 2021) – An 84-year-old woman died after being struck by a car in Escondido on Friday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal pedestrian accident happened at about 3 p.m. on April 16, on El Norte Parkway at Las Villas Way.
The woman, a resident of Escondido, was crossing El Norte Parkway when a sedan stopped to allow her to cross the road.
An SUV that was traveling behind the sedan swerved to avoid hitting the sedan and struck the woman.
The unidentified woman was transported to Palomar Medical Center where she died while undergoing treatment.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
