Woman Hospitalized after Mission Valley Hit-and-Run Accident on Northside Drive near Friars Road

Mission Valley, California (April 18, 2021) – A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a hit-and-run driver Wednesday afternoon in the Mission Valley neighborhood in San Diego, according to a local news source.
The major injury pedestrian accident happened just before 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 14 near the Lowe’s store on Northside Drive, just south of Friars Road,
Authorities said the pedestrian, a 71-year-old woman, was walking near the front entrance of the Lowe’s store when she was hit by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene.
The woman sustained a fractured right femur and multiple head lacerations and was transported to a local hospital. Her name and current condition were not available.
A witness reportedly followed the suspect, but lost sight of the vehicle in North Park, authorities said.
Police described the suspect’s vehicle as a gold 2003-model 4-door Honda Accord with a California license plate of 4ZNN918. The car had moderate front-end damage and possible damage to the right side of the windshield.
A reward of up to $1,000 is available for anyone who provides information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
