Sunol, California (April 16, 2021) – At least one person was seriously injured in a traffic collision involving a semi-truck Thursday afternoon in Sunol, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Authorities received reports about the crash at around 4:26 p.m. on southbound Interstate 680, just adjacent to Koopman Road.

A semi-truck and a box truck were involved in the accident.

The report did not mention how the vehicles collided or the factors contributing to the accident.

At least one person sustained major injuries in the crash. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene to take the victim to the hospital.

Both trucks were towed away from the collision scene.

Authorities will establish the cause of the collision when they conclude their investigation.
