Huy Dang ID’d as Man Killed in El Cajon Crash on Interstate 8 near Dunbar Lane

El Cajon, California (April 13, 2021) – The man who died early Saturday morning following a traffic accident involving a wrong-way driver in El Cajon has been identified as Huy Dang, 59, of San Diego, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Bureau.
The deadly crash happened about 2:07 a.m. Saturday, April 10, on the westbound side of Interstate 8, just west of Dunbar Lane.
Authorities said a gray Toyota Scion was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 8 at a high rate of speed when it collided head-on with a westbound blue Honda CR-V driven by Dang.
Dang was pronounced dead at the scene.
The wrong-way driver was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego to be treated for major injuries before being arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The crash remains under investigation by the CHP- El Cajon.
