19-Year-Old Driver Seriously Injured in Oceanside Crash on El Camino Real near Mission Avenue

Oceanside, California (April 13, 2021) – A driver was seriously injured Sunday night in a single-vehicle crash in Oceanside, according to a local news source.
The major injury collision happened shortly before 8:45 p.m. Sunday, April 11, on El Camino Real, just south of Mission Avenue.
Authorities said a 19-year-old man was driving a Ford Focus northbound on El Camino Real when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a retaining wall.
The Ford Focus then struck a light pole and sign.
The driver sustained head trauma and was airlifted to a hospital. His name and current condition were not disclosed.
The Ford Focus was totaled following the crash. Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
