1 Injured after Van Collides with Truck on S Soto Street in Boyle Heights

Boyle Heights, California (April 12, 2021) – One person was seriously injured when a van collided with a truck Monday night in Boyle Heights, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The major injury traffic collision was reported at around 8:53 p.m. in the 1715 block of S Soto Street.

Authorities said the van and a large container truck collided for unknown reasons on South Soto Street.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extricated one person who was trapped inside the wrecked van.

The extricated person, only identified as an adult male victim, was then transported to a regional trauma center with major injuries. His name and current condition were not disclosed.

The driver of the truck was uninjured.

Further details about the accident were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
