Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Hospitalized after Carmichael Crash at Manzanita Avenue and Winding Way

Carmichael, California (April 9, 2021) – A Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office deputy was hospitalized Wednesday night in a traffic accident at an intersection in Carmichael, according to a local news source.
The wreck occurred at about 10:27 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, at the intersection of Manzanita Avenue and Winding Way.
As per the report, the officer was responding to another patrol unit involved in a pursuit.
As the deputy approached the intersection, the patrol vehicle traveled through a green light with lights and sirens on and was hit by a civilian car that entered the intersection.
The police car rolled over several times after the crash.
First responders arrived at the scene and found the officer outside of the wrecked patrol car. He was treated at the scene by responding paramedics before transporting him to a hospital for further evaluation.
The civilian driver was not injured and remained at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
