Fremont, California (April 9, 2021) – A two-vehicle accident has claimed the life of one person early Friday morning in Fremont and left two other people injured, authorities said.

The deadly collision occurred at about 2:30 a.m. at Thornton Avenue and the Interstate 880 exit.

According to the authorities, a vehicle, driven by a Newark resident, was traveling northbound on the Interstate 880 off-ramp when it entered the intersection on a green light and was hit by another vehicle that was heading westbound on Thornton Avenue, driven by a Fremont resident.

Authorities said one person died in the crash. Two other people, including the driver of the northbound vehicle, were transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.

The names of the deceased victim and the injured parties have not been disclosed.
