Man Dies in Oxnard Crash on Hobson Way near Seventh Street

Oxnard, California (April 9, 2201) – A driver was killed Thursday morning in a single-vehicle traffic accident in Oxnard, according to a local news source.
The deadly crash happened at around 6:30 a.m. Thursday, April 8, in the southbound lane of Hobson Way, just north of Seventh Street.
Police said a 48-year-old Oxnard man was driving a 2016 Nissan Sentra northbound on Hobson Way when, for unknown reasons, the Nissan drifted to the left across the southbound lanes.
The Nissan continued over the western sidewalk of Hobson Way and struck a tree.
Deadly Car Crash on Hobson Way in Oxnard
Emergency crews responded to the scene and extricated the driver who was partially trapped inside the Nissan. He was then taken to Ventura County Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
It was not immediately clear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
