San Diego, California (March 28, 2021) – A 16-year-old girl was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Friday afternoon in Mission Bay Park, San Diego, authorities said.

The deadly accident transpired at about 4:48 p.m. on March 26, on the Ingraham Street Bridge from Ski Beach, near Dana Landing Road.

According to the police, a 2008 Ford Fusion driven by a 16-year-old girl was headed on Ingraham Street when she noticed traffic stopped in front of her and swerved into the other lane.

Unfortunately, as she was switching lanes, she reportedly crashed into a Ford Escape, a Nissan Sentra sedan and flipped over.

A 16-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the Ford Fusion, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford Escape, a 26-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries in the accident.

The driver Sentra, a 23-year-old man, and the driver of the Fusion were unhurt.

Traffic on the roadway was stopped for an unknown period due to the accident.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
