1 Killed in Bicycle Accident at Ninth Avenue and Spruce Street in Escondido
Escondido, California (March 27, 2021) – A bicyclist died after being struck by a vehicle in Escondido on Friday night.
The fatal collision happened at about 7 p.m. March 26, in the area of West Ninth Avenue and South Spruce Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Escondido police said a bicyclist was struck by a 2009 Nissan Altima sedan.
The 33-year-old man was found unconscious and bleeding from head injuries. Paramedics transported him to Palomar Medical Center where he died while undergoing treatment.
The female driver of the Altima was transported to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
