Victorville, California (March 26, 2021) – The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner’s Bureau has identified the construction worker who died after being struck by a vehicle Thursday afternoon in Victorville as Isaac Paul Lopez,  45, of Corona.

The deadly accident happened at around noon on Thursday, March 25, in a construction area along Hesperia Road, just south of Green Tree Boulevard.

Authorities said a white Chevy Suburban was heading northbound on Hesperia Road when, for unknown reasons, it veered off the roadway and hit four people who were working in the area near an excavator.

One of the construction workers, Lopez, was declared dead at the scene.  Another male victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Antelope Valley Medical Center.

The other two victims were taken by land ambulances to nearby hospitals for treatment of their injuries. The condition of the injured parties was not immediately disclosed.

The involved driver stopped at the scene and was cooperative, authorities said.
