Oakland, California (March 25, 2021) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a car on Wednesday night in Oakland.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened at about 10:11 p.m. on Interstate 580 Freeway near the High Street off-ramp.
The pedestrian was walking on the highway when he was hit by a car in unclear circumstances.
The unidentified pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Information about the motorist was not immediately provided.
The eastbound lanes of the freeway were temporarily closed as the authorities examined the scene.
