Otay Mesa, CA: Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Otay Mesa Road

Otay Mesa, California (March 19, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed in a rear-end collision near Brown Field Municipal Airport in Otay Mesa Thursday, according to a local news source.

Authorities said the deadly accident occurred at about noon on Thursday, March 18, on Otay Mesa Road near Cactus Road.

According to the authorities, a 71-year-old man was driving a 2008 Ford F-150 westbound when, for unknown reasons, he rear-ended a Honda Cargo 150 bike that was stopped for a red light.

Deadly Motorcycle Accident on Otay Mesa Road 

The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike upon the impact. The rider, only identified as a 42-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Ford was uninjured.

The name of the deceased motorcyclist has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The crash remains under investigation.
