French Camp, California (March 15, 2021) – Nathaniel Clifton was among five people who died following a traffic accident Thursday night in French Camp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly accident occurred at about 11:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, on Interstate 5.
The CHP said a 1997 Toyota, driven by a 33-year-old Stockton man, was heading northbound on Interstate 5 when, for unknown reasons, the Toyota veered off the roadway and struck a highway sign.
The vehicle then crashed through a fence and slammed into a tree.

Three people were pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were transported to a local hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.
Alcohol or drugs were considered a factor in the accident.
