Man Killed in Antioch Crash on Highway 4 near Highway 160

Antioch, California (March 15, 2021) – A man was killed Sunday night in a single-vehicle accident in Antioch, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly crash, which was reported at about 9:00 p.m. Sunday, March 14, happened in the westbound lane of Highway 4, just west of Highway 160.
The CHP said a 41-year-old Antioch man was driving a silver Chevrolet Impala westbound on Highway 4 when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed through the metal guardrail before hitting a metal sign pole.
As a result of the crash, the Chevrolet acquired major damage to the driver’s side.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of family.
Three lanes of Highway 4 were closed following the accident. It is undetermined if intoxication played a role in the crash.
