John Walker ID’d as Man Killed in Middletown Motorcycle Accident on Butts Canyon Road near Napa County Line

Middletown, California (March 9, 2021) – Authorities have identified the man who died Sunday afternoon following a motorcycle accident near Middletown as John Michael Walker, 61, of Sacramento.
The deadly crash happened at around 12:49 p.m. Sunday, March 7, on Butts Canyon Road, just west of the Napa County line, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to the CHP, Walker was riding a 2000 Honda RC51 motorcycle westbound at approximately 55 to 60mph when he lost control of the bike while negotiating a sweeping curve in the roadway.
The bike then overturned onto the left side and crashed into a guardrail. The impact caused Walker to be ejected from the motorcycle.
Deadly Motorcycle Accident on Butts Canyon Road in Middletown
Walker died at the scene despite life-saving measures performed by paramedics. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, the CHP said.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
